The Vocational studies department of the school trains the students to be creative, industrious and morally sound. Under commercial department, we study Commerce, Accounting and Business Studies, Fine Art, Visual Art, Technical drawing, Music, Home Economics, Foods and Nutrition, and these subjects are anchored by visionary teachers.
Recently, we went for competition at the Stock Exchange 4th annual Schools challenge and came 4th. The Arts unit went for a cultural Arts Quiz competition and won at the state level. They represented Akwa Ibom State for the same competition and came second at the national level.
The department is gradually setting up standard studios and laboratories for detailed practical classes to enhance the students’ expertise in the various vocations. Teaching and learning in the department are done using well supervised instructional materials.
The human and material resources in the department are directed towards producing self-reliant and self-employed youths and renowned experts in different fields.
Our vocational exhibitions have always attracted the interest of well-meaning citizens, mostly parents, as a demonstration of the creative skills that the young Nigerians are building through the study of vocational subjects.
